Changing the order of Sales Order statuses

You can change the order in which sales order statuses are listed

By default, sales order statuses will be listed in alphabetical order.

Administrators can change the order of sales order statuses from Settings - Sales Order Statuses.

Enter a number in the Display Order field to set an order.

The ordering will be respected in Status drop-downs, when creating a new sales order and within a sales order record.

The Next Status button within a sales order will take you to the next status.

When determining an order, consider the following:

  • Un-numbered statuses will appear after numbered statuses, in alphabetical order

  • You may wish to place destructible or final statuses at the end e.g. Cancelled, Closed

  • Exclusions will be respected when using the Next Status button

    • For example, pre-authorisation statuses will be ignored for authorised orders
