The Days in Progress feature-on lets you more easily track how long sales orders have been in processing.

Visible on a customer's sales order grid, the Days in Progress value is a sum of the number of days an open order has spent in an in-progress status.

Note that it will only be shown for orders that are currently in an in-progress status.

This feature comes at no additional cost. If you'd like to make use of it, please contact your account manager.

Work stacks

This field is also available in sales order work stacks. This lets you, for example, save a pre-filtered work stack for sales orders that have been in processing for a certain number of days.

The value set next to Number of Days in Processing will determine the minimum number of days in progress for orders to be included in the work stack. For example, if you enter 5, the stack will pull through orders that have been in an in-progress status for 5 days or more.

TIP: In addition to the above, to help monitor and manage workload, use our Work Stack subscription feature, which lets users and management receive alerts for specific work stacks directly within their accounts.

You can set up subscriptions for any work stacks created using templates based on Cases, Opportunities, Sales Orders, or Invoices.

Leaderboard Widgets

Some leaderboard widgets, such as the Sales Order Leaderboard widget variants, will show the Days in Progress of each order. This is also visible in the breakdown view.

Dynamic widgets

Dynamic widgets are powered by report data, and allow you to present it in a range of ways on your dashboard.

Using All Sales Orders reports as the basis for your widget will allow you to access the Days in Progress value for in-progress orders.

In this example, we are using the All Sales Orders by Date report to power a Table widget. We have filtered on Days in Progress to look for report lines with a value of 3 or more.

This is just one example of how this information can be used.

Sales order history

The History tab on a sales order record shows the status history of the sales order.

The ▶ icon means that the status is counted as an in-progress status.

Please note that the number of days in progress values for each order and status are refreshed daily.

This means that, if the feature has just been enabled in your instance, it will take up to one day for numbers to show.

Determining which statuses are in-progress

Administrators can determine which sales order statuses are considered in-progress from Settings - Sales Order Statuses.

Click on the pencil icon next to a status, then check the box under In Progress.

The effect of the change will be seen the next time the in-progress values are refreshed - this may be the next day.
