Customer product assets can be linked to a new or existing opportunity. This can be useful when a product is being replaced. For example, when upgrading hardware or replacing equipment that is out of warranty.
You can do this from the Assets tab of a customer record, with the +Opportunity button
You can create a new opportunity, or add the assets to an existing one.
Linked assets will be shown on the Customer Product Assets tab on the opportunity.
Please note that, unlike with service assets, product assets cannot be linked to new quotation lines.
