There are 2 ways to store images in Cases on The Layer.

Paste Images Directly into Notes

It's possible to paste images directly into the notes area of your Cases on The Layer.

Where images are sent in the body of an email, these cannot be added to your case activity feed alongside the text in the body of the email. This is due to the limitations of email platforms; it isn't possible to distinguish the images you want to keep, from images held in email signatures.

There may also be scenarios where a customer might send you many different images of the same thing, from different angles; only a few of which may be useful for your team to diagnose and solve the issue!

If you want selected images to be included in the notes area, you can paste the images in directly.

To do this, simply go to the notes icon in a Case:

This will open the case activity feed. Add a new note in the empty box:

Then, paste your chosen image in directly. You can add some text too, if required, then Save.

For more information on how to use and enable the Case activity feed, see this article.

Using Case Sweep to store Images sent as Attachments

If you're using Mail Triage and Case Sweep, images sent as attachments to emails can be stored via the attachments area of Cases.

These will be visible from the attachments area of a Case:

This will open File Manager for that Case; as you can see in the image below, all attachments and images will be stored here, including images used in the sender's email signature. Therefore, it may be preferable to follow the instructions above to paste important images directly into Case notes, in addition to using Case Sweep.

These attachments will also be directly accessible from the Case Activity Feed as links:

You can click on the attachments button to open the expanded menu which shows the file names of all attachments received per email, each of these files can then be opened directly from this menu.

For more information on using Mail Triage, see this article.
