Product category tabs can be hidden from the user in both the quotation builder and the customer asset grid. It's also possible to change the name of the category as it appears in these tabs, without affecting the category name anywhere else in the system.

This may be useful, for example, if you have a product category with a long name.

To configure this, administrators can access Product Categories from Settings.

Here you can see your Base Categories, and a summary of details.

Products Shortcut - the name that will appear on the tab in the quotation builder and assets grid for product items

Service Shortcut - the name that will appear on the tab in the quotation builder and assets grid for service items

For example, you can see that the short names for Mobile items are Devices and Tariffs.

The columns under Shortcuts indicate whether or not the tabs will be shown in the quote builder and assets grid:

To edit any of these settings for a base category, click the category name and access the Quotation Builder tab.
