Automation Builder can find the price increases agreed on your customers' services that are coming due, so you can raise a task or send an email for each one and apply it on time.
This needs the Contracted Price Increases add-on. Without it the shortcut finds nothing. See Contracted Price Increases: overview and setup.
The shortcut and recipe find increases. They do not change a service's price or your billing.
The quickest way: the recipe
Go to Settings, Automation Builder and open the Marketplace.
Choose Contracted price increases due (daily tasks).
Enter the email address of the person who applies price increases and install it.
Set the automation's API Token Application in its settings, then turn it on.
Every morning at 7am it finds the increases due in the next 30 days and emails a reminder for each, naming the customer, the service, the new monthly price and the date. Each increase is emailed once.
Building your own: the shortcut
Drag Find Price Increases Due from the Shortcuts section of the palette. It lists the pending increases on live services that take effect within the number of days you choose, plus any that are already overdue.
Look ahead (days): how far ahead to look, up to 366. Defaults to 30.
Response Variable: the name of the list the shortcut fills, increasesDue unless you change it. Add a ForEach over it to act on each increase.
Fields for each increase
{{item.CustomerName}}and{{item.CustomerId}}{{item.ProductName}},{{item.Reference}}and{{item.CustomerServiceId}}for the service{{item.CurrentCost}}the monthly price now{{item.NewCost}}the monthly price after the increase{{item.IncreaseAmount}}the size of the increase{{item.EffectiveDate}}the date it takes effect, as year-month-day{{item.StepNo}}1 for the first increase on the service, 2 for the second and so on{{item.PriceIncreaseId}}a unique number for the increase, useful to stop the same one being raised twice
A typical automation
Scheduled trigger (daily) then Find Price Increases Due then ForEach over the list then Create Task or Send Email. Set the step's send-once key to price-increase:{{item.PriceIncreaseId}} so each increase is raised only once.
Good to know
Ceased services and increases that have been applied or cancelled are not listed.
The shortcut reads your own data through the Layer API, so the automation needs an API Token Application with access to products.
