Work stacks can be useful when you need to perform updates on multiple records at once, e.g. changing status, owner.

However, administrators may wish to restrict other users from performing these operations.

From Settings - Users - <User> - Roles you can assign a range of roles to a user.

The following roles can be enabled to restrict specific actions:

Disallow Bulk Lead & Customer Operations

Disallow Bulk Opportunity Change (All)

Disallow Bulk Opportunity Change (Classification)

Disallow Bulk Opportunity Change (Est Close)

Disallow Bulk Opportunity Change (Owner)

Disallow Bulk Opportunity Change (Probability)

Disallow Bulk Opportunity Change (Qualified)

Disallow Bulk Opportunity Change (Qualified-Int)

Disallow Bulk Opportunity Change (Status)

Disallow Bulk Opportunity Change (Strength)

Disallow Bulk Product Assets Change (Reassign Customer)

Disallow Bulk Service Assets Change (Reassign Customer)

Disallow Bulk Service Assets Change (Reassign Supplier)

Disallow Bulk Subsidy Operations

Disallow Bulk Task Change (Complete)

Disallow Bulk Task Change (Due Date)

Disallow Bulk Task Change (Priority)

Disallow Bulk Task Change (Reassign)

Occasionally, new roles are added, so the above list may not be exhaustive.
