Product manufacturers and price book import

Product Manufacturers should be created within the Layer prior to price books being imported.

Alternatively, if you have a permission to automatically update an inventory on import, the manufacturer and suppliers that do not already exist in the settings will be created automatically. This role is called Customer Inventory Import Auto-Normalise.

Adding a product manufacturer

Step 1

Go into Settings and scroll down to the section labelled ‘Inventory Configuration.’ From this section, select Product Manufacturers.

Step 2

On the left hand side of the screen, click Create, enter the Manufacturer’s name and click Save.

This manufacturer can now be accessed from the list of pre-existing manufacturers on the page.

Step 3

Click on the manufacturer you have just created and select Quick Filter Options from the top bar.

From the list that appears, select the product categories that the manufacturer makes.

You have now successfully added the manufacturer to your system.

HOW TO ADD A PRODUCT SUPPLIER:

Step 1

Similarly to adding a manufacturer, you will need to enter the Settings section, go to the ‘Inventory Configuration’ section, and then choose Product Suppliers.

Step 2

Choose Create from the left hand side.

From here, enter the name and details of the company within relevant spaces, and click Save.

Step 3

Once this has been completed, the supplier can be amended by clicking on it from your main supplier list.

You will need to click on Quick Filter Options in order to add the product categories.

You have now successfully added the product supplier.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:

  • It is possible to amend any manufacturer or supplier by clicking on their name in the main list

  • It is also possible to delete any manufacturer or supplier by clicking the X on the right hand side, after their name

  • Within the manufacturer and product suppliers own area, it is possible to upload a logo for the company (with recommended image sizes) that will appear in the quote builder and invoices
