You can sign in to The Layer with your username, your email address or, if your company has set it up, your work Microsoft account. All of them start at the login page.
Sign in with your username and password
Enter your Layer username. Your picture and your company's branding appear, so you know it's the right account.
Enter your password and click Sign In.
If your password has expired, you'll be asked to change it before you continue.
Sign in with your email address
You can enter your email address instead of your username. It works the same way, using the same password.
If that email address and password match more than one account, for example because you work across several companies, you'll see an Account Picker. Choose the account you want and click Sign In. Only active accounts are shown.
Two-factor authentication
If your company uses it, you'll be asked for a code after entering your password.
You'll be sent a code by SMS or voice call.
Enter it and click Authorise. If it doesn't arrive, click Request Call.
Once a device is verified, you won't be asked again on it for 30 days, unless its cookies are cleared. Read more in Understanding Two-Factor Authorisation.
Two-factor applies to password sign-in. Microsoft sign-in uses your company's Microsoft security settings instead.
Sign in with Microsoft 365
Click Sign in with Microsoft 365. The first time, you'll link your Microsoft account using your Layer username and password. After that, you won't need your Layer password. See Sign in with Microsoft 365 for the steps.
If your password box is greyed out after you enter your username, your company requires Microsoft sign-in for your account. Use the button.
Administrators: see Set up Microsoft 365 sign-in for your company.
If you've forgotten your password
Click Password recovery on the login page and follow the instructions.
How long you stay signed in
You'll be asked to sign in again after 8 hours with no activity. To sign out, use the log off option in The Layer. If you use Microsoft sign-in on a shared computer, sign out of Microsoft as well.
If you can't sign in
