On The Layer you are able to create relationships between customer records. This could be parent child relationship between the companies or investor etc. Creating a relationship between the companies will provide you with quick access via link between the customers, therefore you don't need to remember the connecting names.

Create a relationship

To create a relationship find the customer record you wish to add relationship to, then from 'Actions' Tab select option 'Relationships'.

You will be presented with the following window, select the most appropriate option.

Relationship Type

Relationship types are set as default to the following five types (see image above):

  1. Parent

  2. Child

  3. Other

  4. Investor

  5. Subsidiary

Note that these are not customisable per instance.

Linked Customer

Select a customer record you wish to create a relationship with from a drop down option. Tip: Start typing the name to search.

Then click 'Add'.

The relationship will appear on the list of existing relationships.

You can add as many relationships as required.

Visibility of Linked Customers

The linked customers will be visible on the left hand side in both customer records.

The link will take you to the linked customer account

Company Settings and View preference

The settings allow you to view the linked customers in two different ways. To customise it go to Company Settings -> Customisation then enable or disable 'Consolidated Linked Customer Relationship View.

The System defaults to consolidated view

If however, you prefer the list view enable the above customisation.
