How to add or update the email signature?

Information on configuring your email signature for emails from The Layer

The Email Signature feature allows users to customise their email signature for all emails sent from The Layer. Whether you’re adding personal details, branding, or a professional sign-off, this feature makes it easy to create a consistent email signature across your communication. It's a simple process, accessible directly from your user settings, giving you full control over your signature's content and format.

How Do I Use the Email Signature Feature?

For Admins:

  • Go to Settings ➡️ Users ➡️User Profile and select the user whose signature you wish to update.

  • From there, access the Signature tab and make the necessary changes.

Users can update their own signature for emails coming from The Layer, by accessing their own user settings.

For Users:

  • Click on your user name in the top-left corner of the screen to access your settings.

  • Navigate to the Signature tab.

  • Enter your desired signature in the provided text box. Basic formatting tools are available to style your signature.

Advanced Changes via HTML

You can also click the </> button to view and edit the HTML of your signature for more advanced customizations.

Adding an Image to Your Signature:
To add an image, follow these steps:

  1. Save the image in your instance's Files section.

  2. Copy the link of the image from the File Manager: click the chain icon and Ctrl+C, and enter to copy the link.

  3. In the HTML view (</>), use the following format:

<img src="http://example.com/image.png"/>
  • Replace the link in quotes with the link you copied from Files.

  • Click Update and then Save to apply the changes.

Users with a 365 maintenance account configured

If you have a Maintenance account set up, your signature can be configured to be automatically applied from your exchange server/365 account. This is because it receives the email from The Layer before it gets sent to the recipient. Using this feature means that you do not need to add a signature to your profile in The Layer.

Once you are happy with your signature, you can click on Save. This template will be saved and used when you send emails from The Layer.
