Installing The Layer Outlook App

Once logged in, the Layer panel shows the current email and a set of Quick Actions, letting you sync the email, create a new case, lead, customer, or opportunity, add a note, log a phone call or SMS, or search Layer - all without leaving Outlook.

Using The Layer Add-In

Installation Prerequisites

  • The most recent version of the Outlook Desktop App

  • The "API - Outlook Plugin" role assigned to your user account

In Outlook, open the Apps panel using the icon in the bottom-left of the navigation bar.

Select Apps, then click Add Apps.

In the Apps search bar, search for "The Layer".

Select The Layer (published by Layer Systems) from the search results.

Click Install / Add.

The Layer icon will now appear in your ribbon under Add-ins, though it will look faded until it's ready to use.

Return to your Inbox and select any email.

The Layer icon in the ribbon will now appear filled in (no longer faded).

Click the icon to open The Layer side panel, then log in using your Layer sign-in credentials.

You can now use the New Layer Outlook App to sync emails, create cases and other various actions direct from Outlook
