It enhances your writing in real-time using customisable prompt styles that match your tone, audience, and purpose. From professional replies to friendly notes or even emoji-rich responses — it’s just a click away.

🧠 What Is AI Writing Assist?

AI Writing Assist is a tool built directly into writing areas in The Layer (emails and more). It lets you choose from a library of prompt styles that shape the way your AI-generated content is written.

Think of it like giving the AI a role to play. You choose the tone and style — it handles the words.

🎛️ How It Works

1. Set Your Writing Style in Settings

Admins or power users can define reusable prompt templates like:

  • Be “Layer” Professional – for respectful, accurate, and on-brand communication

  • Be Funny – adds humour (gently!)

  • Emoji Prompt – livens up messages with relevant emojis

  • Sales Tone, Friendly Tone, and more...

Each prompt has settings for:

  • Safety (appropriate, respectful)

  • 🗣️ Tone (clear, suitable for audience)

  • 🎯 Intent (answering the original question)

  • 🧠 Accuracy (fact-checking and structure)

  • 🧲 Engagement (readability and clarity)

You’ll find these under Settings > AI Prompts.

2. Use It While You Write

When composing an email or writing a note:

  • Click the AI Assist dropdown

  • Choose a tone (e.g. “Be 'Layer' Professional” or “Sales Tone”)

  • Hit generate — and the AI will write in that voice

You’re always in control — you can edit the text before sending or saving.

  • Sales Follow-Ups: Choose Sales Tone to keep the message upbeat and persuasive

  • Light-Hearted Interactions: Use Be Funny for internal banter or casual replies
