Service products with variable commitment lengths can be set up in The Layer via the Inventory area of Settings. Select the Services for the relevant category and then locate the service you wish to edit.
Check Variable Term in the Product Header tab.
Variable term services can also be marked during import by specifying and mapping the IsVariable column.
Upon selecting a variable commitment length in the quotation product manager, you'll be able to change the Term and Term (OGR).
The default values provided are those specified against the service product. Overriding these affects wholesale and OGR profit sources only.
Minimum & Maximum Terms
In the pricing section of the product page, you will see the following fields:
Subscription Term: This is the default term which will be set when selecting the item during quote building. When a subscription term is set (not blank), the minimum and maximum term fields become valid.
Minimum Subscription Term: This is the minimum allowed value to be set for the item when variable term is enabled
Maximum Subscription Term: This is the maximum allowed value to be set for the item when variable term is enabled
If you have set your minimum term and maximum term to the same value e.g. 36, then the term on the item will not be amendable. We recommend setting all minimum and maximum terms appropriately e.g. Min: 0 & Max: 36 would allow an item to have a term anywhere between 0 and 36 months.
